In the last six years, the Innovation Economy has emerged at Industry City, creating thousands of jobs and opportunities for local business growth. To fully align with the community’s 197A plan and grow jobs to 15,000, outdated and overly burdensome regulations need to be updated for the modern economy.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Transform underutilized space into an active Innovation Economy hub with 15,000 on-site jobs and 6.6M square feet of rental space.

EDUCATION
Increase entrepreneurship and vocational training, and create 600,000 square feet of new space for college classrooms.

TRANSPORTATION
Expand public transit access to the waterfront, and improve the safety and experience of pedestrians and cyclists.

ENVIRONMENT
Commit to the Mayor’s 30% carbon reduction goal and to resiliency investments.

OPEN SPACES
Improve waterfront open space and pedestrian access, while adding programs and retail/dining amenities to increase waterfront use.

COMMUNITY FACILITIES/SERVICES
Add dedicated event space for tenant and community use to expand and add to the diverse community and cultural events already taking place at IC.

HISTORIC PRESERVATION
Complete reuse of historic buildings and addition of contextual new structures.
